Neonode N1m (2005)

This mobile phone has a couple of buttons and touchscreen, which detects the touch of a finger. It will sound iPhone description, but it is the announcement of three more years. But everyone's attention attracted another innovative device - it developed in a tiny (only thirty people!) Swiss company Neonode.

Model Neonode N1m because of its miniature more like a player than a phone: 88 * 52 mm and 21 mm in thickness, weight - '94 The display has a resolution of 176 by 220 pixels and supports finger input, implemented on the basis of proprietary technology zForce. Along the edges of the display are arranged emitters and light sensors; when the beam path appears palets, the tip of the stylus, pen or any other object, the beam is interrupted, the phone registers a touch. zForce is also suitable for multi-touch, but these screen sizes it is almost useless and was not implemented.

The phone runs on Windows CE 5.0 and in characteristics was similar to all the then model. Two megapixel camera, SD card slot and the ability to listen to music. Unfortunately, selling unusual phone was much more difficult than to do, and N1m, as well as the two subsequent model differed bad: the number of copies shipped to each of them counted in tens of thousands. In 2008, Neonode management declared for bankruptcy, and then the company changed course and since then only sells licenses for zForce.
